RESIDENCY AT UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND NOVEMBER 2025
PERFORMING ARTS INSTRUCTION
Grounded in professional practice and years of experience as a playwright, filmmaker, and teaching artist, Sharece offers performing arts instruction that develops both creative skill and personal voice.
Through a hands-on, guided approach, participants learn the fundamentals of storytelling, character development, and performance while building confidence, presence, and the ability to communicate ideas authentically.
Instruction is rooted in real-world application drawing from theatre, writing, and performance to help participants explore perspective, develop original work, and bring stories to life.


ADVOCACY THROUGH THEATRE LAB
Devised theatre program tailored for university students includes interactive sessions that bridge performing arts with
Human Services, health equity, and real-world application.

Through offerings such as the Advocacy Through Theatre Lab, students explore complex social issues through storytelling and performance analyzing character, unpacking lived experiences, and developing empathy, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Blending dramaturgy, discussion, and performance, the lab invites students to collaborate, interpret, and present original work while discovering how theatre can serve as a powerful tool for awareness, dialogue, and advocacy.
