THE HUMAN SIDE OF HEALTH
A Virtual Public Health Play Series
The Human Side of Health is a virtual theatre initiative that uses original short plays (10 mins) to spark meaningful conversations about today's most important health topics. Each professionally rehearsed and recorded performance is followed by a discussion with healthcare professionals, educators, and community experts, creating an engaging space where storytelling, education, and lived experience come together to inspire understanding, reduce stigma, and strengthen community well-being.

ROBERT ESPOSITO "ESPO"
Play directed: Can I Get a Bus Pass?
Rob Esposito’s (ESPO as he is known to his high school students) “day job” for the past two decades has been as a Theatre teacher/director at Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School in New Haven where he has directed over sixty major musicals/plays such as: Chicago, In the Heights, Hairspray, Into the Woods, Steel Magnolias, Importance of Being Earnest, Drowsy Chaperone, Last Days of Judas Iscariot, BAT BOY, Sister Act, Jesus Christ Superstar, Taming of the Shrew, Urinetown, Little Shop of Horrors, and many others. ESPO has also directed shows for Fair Haven Middle School, St. Bernadette School, Bregamos, Square Foot Theatre, Vintage Soul Productions and Center Stage Theatre. During the summer time for the past few decades, he has been teaching theatre classes at local dance studios including Dance Unlimited, Dance Connection and Hamden Dance.
He holds a Masters Degree in Oral Traditions from the Graduate Institute and a Bachelors from Fairfield University. Passionate about the importance of the arts in education, ESPO is involved in many theatre outreach collaborations including the CT Thespians. He is also a proud member of the Board of the Tony Award winning Long Wharf Theatre of New Haven. Aside from the occasional acting “gig”, he finds teaching his most rewarding artistic experience to date. The Human Side of Health project is yet another opportunity to work with his dear friend and artistic collaborator Sharece! He is honored to be working with such a talented cast and creative team.
JACQUE SIMONE BROWN
Play directed: Silver Lining
New Haven native Jacqueline Brown is a trained actor, writer, director, and educator with over a decade of experience mentoring young artists. She has recently received her Masters in special education and is a certified teacher with the New Haven Board of Education. Jacqueline is the creator of an award-winning web series, HAVEN:The Series (@haventheseries) and the Co-Founder of W.A.B. Studio & Conservatory (@wab.sc). She is passionate about building spaces and creating work that inspires artists to grow in faith, craft, and confidence while celebrating community.
JULIAN
Play directed: Silence Would Be Golden
JULIAN is an American Screenwriter/Playwright/Producer/Director based in Ardmore, PA. They are pursuing his MFA in Screenwriting and Playwriting at Point Park University. JULIAN is developing their debut film, SILAS, where they are Creator, Screenwriter, and Executive Producer, which will premiere in Spring 2027. JULIAN has been building their skill set for years by developing a diverse range of characters through the storylines of their journey to find a home for their storytelling.
SHARECE SELLEM-HANNAH

Sharece Sellem-Hannah is a playwright, documentary director, community health educator, professor, and founder of Vintage Soul Productions LLC. She holds a Master of Science in Community Health and Prevention Science, a Bachelor of Science in American Studies, and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences, and is currently pursuing an MFA in Writing for Stage and Screen at Point Park University. With more than 17 years of experience in human services, Sharece also teaches college courses in human services, bringing her professional experience into the classroom. As director of The Human Side of Health, she brings together theatre, health, education, and storytelling to encourage conversation and deepen understanding of the human experiences behind health and social issues.
